Over the last couple of weeks, I was given the opportunity to sample some products from affresh. Sample? Cleaning products for the kitchen?! Absolutely! Would love to! (Don't even mention the fact that I was about to start a deep clean on my kitchen. Talk about timing!) So I was sent these four products - Stainless Steel Cleaner, Cooktop Cleaner, Dishwasher Cleaner, and Kitchen and Appliance Cleaner. Now, as a caveat, I have not doctored up the photos.
Let me get something out of the way before we get into the review. When we bought our house, I inherited a DISASTER. I had a lovely coating of baked on grease on my stove top that I have been chipping away at for 3 years. Even attempted the ammonia bath seen on Pinterest. So, the cooktop cleaner was not for me. Maybe someday when I get my dream kitchen (cough, stainless steel), but for now, I turn a blind eye.
First up was the Kitchen and Appliance Cleaner.
I am one of those people that looks for the scent of a cleaning product. I have allergies, and I have a really hard time handling the chemical smell. In fact, I use a lot of natural cleaning products because of that. So when I saw that this had a "clean citrus scent" I was thinking of being overwhelmed with the "clean" aspect of it. NOT AT ALL! I LOVE how this smells. It is so light and fresh. Does not smell like chemicals at all. Did I say I love the scent? I LURVE IT!
I pulled open the label, read the directions just to make sure I could use it on my granite countertops. That's a scary business. Taking that risk. Big breath. Okay. Can use it on my appliances. Can use it on my granite countertops. Buffing? Sweet. That means everything will be shiny. I can handle that. And it is recommended by major appliance manufacturers. Fantastic. Where was I going to use it first? My nasty rasty oven. I have a gas oven that has a self cleaning feature. But that means ash left on the bottom of the oven and that lovely sticky goo on the window.

The after shot. See all the nastiness on the paper towel? But the best part is that I sprayed it on and immediately wiped it off. That's right - all that gunk that I have been working on to get rid of for 3 years was gone almost instantly! I was giddy.
Next up was the stove top. Remember how I told you the Cooktop Cleaner wasn't for me? Enter the Appliance Cleaner. And boy do I have a treat for you - I had just made cupcakes (notice the powdered sugar lacing the stove), cooked some bacon (grease), and I still had the baked on stuff from before. Ew. I give you the before...
Add a little Appliance Cleaner and you get this. Am I grossing you out yet? It made me a little queasy. But at the same time, LOOK AT ALL THE GRIME that just came off my stove! Even more giddy! It took off so much of what has built up over the last 10 years of my home's life. Maybe I can live with my appliances a bit longer. I said maybe.
Remember how I told you about my granite countertops? I had a build up of sticky residue on them, especially right next to the stove. Again, nothing that wouldn't kill my granite would take it off. So I have just lived with it. Not comfortably, but just lived with it. So how did the Kitchen Cleaner hold up to it? You tell me. The proof is on the paper towel. And the sticky countertop is gone.
Next up, I gave the Stainless Steel Cleaner a try. And I had the perfect guinea pig. Enter the grill. It's been put away for the winter. And now, with temperatures rising in the desert, it's time to bring it back out. Oh, the damage that had ensued over the winter and trying to cook in the dark.
I gave it a few quick shots of the Appliance Cleaner on the prep areas, and then applied the Stainless Steel Cleaner to the hood, the doors, and the panels.
Again, first observation was the fragrance. Fresh Plum Scent? Oh yes it was. It smelled so yummy, I thought there was no way it was going to clean this grill up. It just smells too good. But once again, the evidence is clear.
Isn't it all nice and shiny? And again, no pretreating, no scrubbing. The grime just came right off. A product after my own heart. Smells good, no chemical smell. No hard labor involved. And it literally gets the job done.
So, my overall experience with affresh products? A+! I would definitely buy these products and use them in my kitchen, like, often. For someone who has a sensitive nose, hates to spend enormous amounts of time cleaning, and loves shiny stuff (what girl doesn't), this was a definite winner for me.
