Beefalo Burgers


1/2 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 lb. ground bison/buffalo
1 Tbs. rubbed sage
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground pepper
Blue Cheese crumbles
4 whole wheat hamburger buns


1. Preheat grill on medium heat.

2. Combine beef, bison, sage, garlic powder, salt, and ground pepper in a medium bowl.  Mix well until ingredients are incorporated.

3. Divide mixture in 4 parts to make 1/4 lb. patties.  Place patties on hot grill and cook for 3 minutes on each side for a total of 15 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees.  On last rotation, sprinkle blue cheese crumbles on top of each patty, close lid, and allow cheese to melt slightly.  Remove.

4. Serve on buns with lettuce and tomato.
