Freebie and a Meal Plan

Today's freebie is brought to you by Mormon Mommy Blogs.  Okay, the cat's out of the bag, literally.  I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  But that story is for another day.  For now, I wanted to share this printable with you.  I LOVE this quote.  It lifts my spirits whenever I am feeling unsure of who I am.  And I think it could do the same for you, Mormon or not.

If you like this, you may download it here.

Now, for the good stuff.  Here are my meals for next week.  Nothing fancy.  But delicious.  I'm trying to use ANYTHING but the oven (can anyone say HELLO 90 DEGREES?!), so we've got slow cooker, griddle, stove top, and grill meals.  Sigh, I don't know if I'm ready for May to hit just yet in Vegas.

Saturday: FREE DAY!
Sunday: Balsamic Roast Beef French Dip Sandwiches
Monday: Brinner - Pancakes
Tuesday: Spaghetti (from a jar - gasp!)
Wednesday: Slow Cooker Chicken Curry
Thursday: Chicken Souvlaki, Tzatziki, Lemon Rice
Friday: Pizza - Recipe to Follow

Have a great weekend, everyone!  Stay cool and eat some good food!  If you find any good places to eat at in Vegas, comment and let me know.  I'm always on the lookout for great dives.

Freebie and Meal Plan

We had a birthday in our house this week!  The Hubs turned 25, again.  Like for the 10th time.  Yes, we're both in denial of our ages.  Since he is such a boat and water fanatic, I'm making him some special cupcakes.  Using digital scrapbooking papers from Summertime Designs (btw, can I just say I LOVE her stuff?  Okay.  I've put it out there.), I designed these cute, nautical cupcake favors for the occasion.

(To download the wrappers and toppers, click here.)

And here is my meal plan for next week.  I have to be honest with you, I'm lacking in inspiration today.  I've been watching the events in Boston, horrified.  The tragedy in Texas.  I've been holding my kiddos a little closer.  I have a pretty big doctor's appointment this afternoon, and I'm a little mentally preoccupied with it.  Keep your fingers crossed and send up a prayer or two for me, would ya?  I'm probably over reacting, but still, doesn't hurt to have all the positive karma on my side, right?  Okay.  So, now that it's off my chest...here's the list of meals I have planned.

Saturday: Steak Kabobs (Recipe to follow)
Sunday: Pot Roast
Monday: Mediterranean Smothered Chicken (Pin Win or Pin Flop?)
Tuesday: Spiced Roasted Pork with Sweet Potatoes and Apples (McCormick Spices Review)
Wednesday: Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup
Thursday: Sweet Basil and Oregano Bruschetta Chicken (McCormick Spices Review)
Friday: Free Night (I'm thinking ball game food....hm, maybe baseball tickets are in order)

And don't forget to vote for me this week!  BIG HUGS!

Freebie and a Meal Plan

I have seen this quote around.  And while I've been burning down cleaning my kitchen this week, I've been trying to simplify as well.  For the longest time, I've changed the decorations on top of my fridge to reflect the season.  Well, I'm ready for a cleaner look in there.  So, I will be taking down all the seasonal decor and replacing it with this one, simple picture:

And you can download it here (8x10 printable).

Here is my meal plan for next week.  I can't tell you what we're having Wednesday, but I'll show you next week! It's getting warmer here, time to start utilizing the grill, the slow cooker, anything that doesn't utilize the oven.  If you live in Vegas (or Phoenix, or some other desert place), you understand why.

Saturday: Beefalo Burgers
Sunday: Crock Pot Honey Sesame Chicken
Monday: Seafood Stuffed Shells (I'm up to experimenting again!)
Tuesday: Fried Chicken & Biscuits (Recipe to follow)
Wednesday: It's The Hubs birthday - shhhhhhh, it's a surprise!
Thursday: Cafe Rio Salads
Friday: Pizza

And don't forget to vote for me this week!  BIG HUGS!

Freebie and a Meal Plan

Happy Friday, y'all!  I hope you have something fun planned for the weekend.  The freebie this week is definitely going on my gallery wall here at the house.  I have read this quote over and over again and I feel that I need to see it every day.  It is made to be printed out at 8x10, but could be scaled down.

(Download here)

This week's meal plan is all about Spring cleaning.  90% of the ingredients in the meals will come from what is already in my freezer and pantry.  I love to start Spring cleaning out in the kitchen - I go through the freezer, pantry, and fridge and get rid of anything expired and just clean the heck out of it all.  The name of the game is PURGE!  But, lucky me, I still get to make yummy meals with it all.

Saturday: Slow Cooker Pot Roast
Sunday: Gumbo - since I had the stuff left over from Mardi Gras (when I was S.I.C.K. with pneumonia), I thought I'd better use it!
Monday: Spaghetti - pasta, jarred sauce, and browned turkey burger.  Simple.  Easy.
Tuesday: Chicken Enchiladas
Wednesday: Brinner - French Toast
Thursday: Crawfish Boil (instructions to follow)
Friday: Grilled Salmon - Again.Simple.  Grilled with lemon.  Nice and light.

Well, have a great weekend!  We're hitting up Roadkill Grill tonight, and next week I'll have some pictures and video to share with you from there.  I can't wait!

And as always, please "vote" for me over at Top Mommy Blogs.  All you have to do is click on the button at the top left of this page.  Thanks!

Freebie and a meal plan

Our family is a boating family.  We all love the water and a few years ago we took the plunge and added a boat to our collection of water toys.  So, I thought I'd recreate a familiar phrase and add a little nautical nonsense to it.  It now sits in our guestroom with all of our other beachy things.  So if you like boating like us, or just like some nautical decor, feel free to click on the link and download this.

Now on to the good stuff.  The parentals are heading into town next week for Spring Break and a convention.  That's one of the beauties of living in Las Vegas - a lot of conventions are held here, so we get to see friends and family from far away pretty regularly.  I'm excited to cook some of our favorites for them.  My dad loves to try new foods - he's military and so we've traveled all over the world.  He got back from Iraq a couple of years ago and Germany a year ago.  I wish he could make some Middle Eastern food for us.  That would be a special treat.  But this time, I get to cook for him.

Saturday: Jalapeno Popper Chicken - Pin Win or Pin Flop?  We shall see!
Sunday: Happy Easter! Ham, Twice Baked Potatoes, Deviled Eggs, Frog Eye Salad
Monday: Brinner - Waffles, Bacon, Scrambled Eggs
Tuesday: Slow Cooker Tacos Carnitas
Wednesday: Lamb Burgers
Thursday: Asian Grilled Salmon
Friday: We're taking the family over to Roadkill Grill for a little BBQ.  Soooooo stinking yummy!

Friday - Freebie & Meals

Easter is coming!  That means Spring is here.  I honestly love this holiday because it marks the beginning of Spring.  Pastels come out, more colors are introduced into my decor, windows get opened, my lovely purple sage bushes come back to life, and the house gets a thorough going over.  I love it.

This week's freebie I'm bringing to you from Eighteen25.  I love her subway art.  Here is her Easter Subway Art.

Go here to download this lovely, bright art for display in your house!

And here is next week's meal plan.  It's Spring Break for us here, so I'm planning on doing some fun stuff with the family, keeping our meals simple.

Saturday: Fish Tacos
Sunday: Pot Roast
Monday: Brinner (not exactly sure what I'll make)
Tuesday: Slow Cooker Spaghetti
Wednesday: Roasted Chicken with Sweet Potatoes
Thursday: Grilled Salmon (nothing fancy, just simple, lemon slices on top, grilled fish)
Friday: Movie Night!  That means pizza.  And we're going to support our local businesses (something very important to us).  So we'll be heading over to our neighborhood pizzeria for dinner.

Freebie Friday!

Have you read Harry Potter?  Watched the movies?  Albus Dumbledore seems to be the end all, be all of wisdom.  And I love this little piece of advice that he gives Harry.  I think it is a good thing for all of us to be reminded of, especially our children.  And yes, the chalkboard art is a big love of mine right now.  :)

Download it here.

Have a great weekend!

Freebie Friday!

Here's another one.  I just LOVE the alphabet word arts out there with I (heart) U in it.  And I'm totally digging the whole chalkboard art thing as well.  So, I'm combining the two.  Here's my version of I (heart) U Alphabet, in pink and blue.

Friday Freebie!

If you are like me, there have been times in your life when you have wondered, "Why me?!"  Everyone has struggles, trials, hard times, adversity.  And I know of a few people in my life right now that are going through some of that.  So, I thought this quote was the perfect theme for my word art this week.  You are free to download it (it is 8x10), just please give me credit for my work.  :)  Thanks, have a great weekend!

Friday Freebie!

I have something I want to start doing every Friday.  I want to leave you all with a little "gift" for the weekend.  I absolutely love word art.  I have it all over my house!  My walls, in pictures, subway art, it tells a story about our family and how we feel about life and our home.

I didn't have time to create a new word art this week, but I do want to share with you one of my absolute favorites.  It hangs in my laundry room.  Please feel free to head on over to Three Little Monkeys Studio (Gretchen) and download this.  It fits an 8x10 frame.  Have a great weekend and I'll see you Monday!
